Ben Baumann has been working in the clinical research field for 16 years. He co-founded OpenClinica with colleague Cal Collins to make it easier for study teams to carry out high-quality clinical research using modern technology. As OpenClinica’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Baumann has helped develop the company into a leading provider of cloud-based solutions that help automate and accelerate clinical trials, while delivering an industry-leading user experience. His passions include finding human-centric ways to unlock existing sources of real-world data for clinical research. In his downtime he enjoys gardening, spending time with his wife and children, and recreating outdoors in the great state of Maine. Ben holds a B.A. with honors from Harvard College.
Joined OpenClinica in August 2020 and is responsible for leading our professional services, customer support and customer success teams. In industry since 2008, she has vast experience in leading implementations and support for eclinical solutions partnering with Sponsors, CROs and AROs. Prior to OpenClinica, she held various positions at Veeva Systems and PhaseForward (now Oracle) within the professional services realm.
Since 2020, Chris’s deep, hands-on experience with the OpenClinica suite of solutions has made him a key member of our team. He has over 20 years of experience in leadership roles across clinical research and data analytics organizations spanning public companies, startups, consulting firms and academia. Chris earned a bachelor of arts in computer science from Dartmouth College.
Joined OpenClinica in 2016. Instrumental in building our scalable product team. Highly cross-functional software development expert with over 15 years of eClinical product development experience. Prior roles include senior product owner at Clinical Ink and senior product manager at Outcome Sciences/Quintiles (now IQVIA).
Responsible for leading the OpenClinica compliance program, Laura’s been in the industry since 1980 in various roles including programming, software development, documentation, training, computer system validation and – always – compliance. Having worked at many large pharmaceutical companies as well as a few EDC and RTSM software companies, she always has the customer needs in mind when considering the OpenClinica compliance program and how best to serve our customers.
Rob has been part of the OpenClinica team since 2013. His role has evolved leading both sales and marketing to his current home as senior director of sales. His skills are highly cross-functional. Rob is a superb team player. Prior to OpenClinica, Rob served as Global Marketing Manager, Clinical Research Research Analytics, PerkinElmer.
Shiva has been a core team member at OpenClinica since 2017. He is instrumental in creating our high quality, agile engineering team. Total of 13 years experience as hands-on engineer, architect, and team lead working with leading edge technologies. Prior to OC, led the engineering product team at Vecna, an innovative health IT company building patient self-service technologies.
As director of digital marketing, Mary Lou oversees all aspects related to strategy, production and execution of OpenClinica marketing initiatives. Her bias for data-driven action and business acumen strengthen the company’s market presence and give voice to our family of solutions. With over 20 years experience spanning healthcare data analytics, startups, political advocacy and freelance, Mary Lou is a valued member of our team. She holds a bachelor of science in business administration, Southern New Hampshire University, summa cum laude.
